Founded in 1890, Ritzville's hub of communication and travel could be found right here at The Depot. Featuring commercial artifacts—including the town's original horse-drawn hearse, working telegraph machine and more—this beautifully restored depot pays respectful homage to our city's founders and the tools they used to keep it growing. Metal Sculptures
Given that the town of Ritzville was founded in 1890, we have a rich cultural history to honor and explore. In that vein, our charming town is home to numerous sculptures commissioned by local artists to commemorate the significant figures and people who make up our history. Just off I-90 on Division Street, as you enter Ritzville, you'll see a pioneer woman, rancher and farmer with his plow. The Ritzville High School Bronco proudly stands on his hind legs in front of the high school, and next to the Depot Museum you'll see the Wagon Train sculpture honoring Ritzville's first settlers.
Let the blues roll over your soul during the action-packed one-day event known as The Ritzville Blues Festival. Featuring local, regional, national and international blues acts play the full gamut of blues—from traditional Southern blues to boogie woogie and Cajun zydo. With more than 25 bands gracing the stages of seven different venues all over town — including an outdoor stage right down — this is a time to really let your hair down and enjoy great music in a wonderful atmosphere. Held annually on the second Sunday of July, this year's festival takes place July 10, 2010.
